Designer Series Paper Invitations

Have you taken advantage of the SUPER SCRAPBOOKING SALE? In celebration of May being national scrapbooking Month - Stampin' Up! is offering the FABULOUS Designer Sereis papers (DSP) and 12 x 12 Textured Card Stocks Buy 3 Get 1 Free! There is also a Sneak Peek NEW Alphabet Stamp Set for 20% Off! You can order online via My Website or contact me with your order. Or why not Host a Workshop or Catalog Shop and spread the DSP joy with your paper-crafting family and friends?

This is a bridal shower invitation I made at a dear friend's request. I used th Patterns DSP in Riding Hood Red to coodinate with the bride-to-be's wedding color. Then accented with gold and white. The focal image and sentiment are heat embossed in Gold on Riding Hood Red, then layered on Brushed Gold Metallic card stock.

The invitation is a Double Pocket Card, which consists mostly of a special way to fold the DSP. This picture shows the pockets, and their inserts. The larger insert is the invitation wording. The smaller insert is the bridal registry information. Both inserts are embellished with gold, organdy ribbon and a red staple. A picture of the engaged couple, accented by the Photo Corners Punch, is the finishing touch.

The Double Pocket Card has so many possibilities! I think it would be AWESOME as a wedding invitation! I covered up the left, inside flap of the open invitation for this picture, however, the invitation wording could go there layered on, keep the pic of the couple, then use the larger insert for RSVP card and map/directions, and the smaller insert for bridal registry information. Or how about for an Anniversary invitation? Or a Baby Shower? Or just a super nice WOW card for a special someone with surprises tucked in the pockets? ENJOY!

Stamps: Wedding Elegance (retired SU!), Sincere Salutations (SU!)
Card Stock: Riding Hood Red Patterns DSP and card stock, Brushed Gold Metallic, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark

First Communion

This First Holy Communion design uses both Creative Play Stamps and Stampin' Up! The First Communion set by Creative Play Stamps is perfect for creating invitations, cards, favors and scrapbook pages - not only for First Holy Communions, the images in this set could be used for Ordinations, Jubilees and any other religious occasion. I wanted a bigger cross image for my main focal piece, so I used the SU! Refuge and Strength stamp set. I heat embossed the cross in gold on half of a SU! Top Note Die.

Stamps: First Communion (CreativePlayStamps), Refuge and Strength (SU)
Card Stock: Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Versamark
Accessories: SU! Top Note Die, Curly Label Punch, Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool and Dimensionals; Cuttlebug and Distressed Striped A2 Embossing Folder

Wanted Birthday Thank Yous

I made these thank yous last night, for my daughter to write out and send to her birthday guests. They go along with her birthday invitation HERE. I think I have gotten as close as I ever have - to using up an entire package of Designer Series Paper - lol! I continued on from the invitation, with other Loves Me DSP paper pieces - this way I continued the color scheme as well as using the Wanted set and the ovals (scalloped and plain.) The "thank you" sentiment comes from the set Thank You Kindly.

Miranda is adding her own stamp designs inside the cards!
Stamps: Wanted, Thank You Kindly
Card Stock: Taken with Teal, Close to Cocoa, Regal Rose & Whisper White; Loves Me DSP (retired)
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Nestabilities, Cuttlebug

Birthday Punch

I am afraid the pun humor of my husband's family has completely rubbed off on me AND I'm am okay with that! lol (Did you get the post title? that's what I'm talking about - giggle).

This fourth and final design from Alice S.' workshop last week was inspired by the sample shown on page 8 of the Occasions Mini 2009 for the NEW Oval All Stamp Set and Scallop Oval Punch! The Oval All Set not only goes perfectly with the Scallop Oval Punch, but also the Large Oval Punch. I changed it up a bit by making it open at the side, and adding in the Star Punches and adding a subtle tone on tone Happy Birthday background to the Pacific Point base layer.

Stamps: Oval All, God's Blessings
Card Stock: Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Summer Sun & Whisper White
Ink: Pacific Point
Accessories: Punches: Scallop Edge and Oval, Large and Wide Ovals, 3/4", 1", 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circles, Star & Large Star; Tangerine Tango Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and Dimensionals.

Raspberry Garden Whimsy

Design three of four from Alice S.' workshop last week.

TIP: Use Designer Double-Sided Paper (DSP) to create a quick and beautiful card or project.

DSP instantly adds color and background to a project - just cut and layer it up. There are so many DSP designs to choose from - pretty, cute, fun, masculine, etc. And remember, during May Stampn' Up is celebrating National Scrapbooking Month with a promotion of it's DSP and Textured 12 x 12 card stock - BUY 3 GET 1 FREE! Just head over to MY SU SITE and click the "Shop Now" button near the top of the home page to browse the catalog and take advantage of this promotion via online ordering.

This Raspberry Tart DSP is so bright and cheerful - it is sure to cheer up the loved one who receives a card using it. The butterfly and lady bug images are stamped off Regal Rose, to provide a sharper contrast between the Regal Rose and the Rose Red of the sentiment. The Slit Punch provides a spot to slip the focal piece under to hold the card closed. Just remember not to write past where the card closes when filling out this card! :)

Stamps: Garden Whimsy, Sincere Salutations
Card Stock: Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red & Whisper White; Raspberry Tart DSP
Ink: Rose Red & Regal Rose Classic Pads
Accessories: Slit Punch, Rose Red 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Old Olive Brads.
ENJOY!

Crazy for Cupcakes & Watercoloring

Here is a second design from Alice S.' workshop last week. Notice the layered Top Note? Nope, it's not a nestabilities! It is the SU! Top Note - layered!

Are you ooo'ing and ahhhh'ing yet? Now for the confession (lol) - it is a faux layer! (Don't you love the word faux?!) It looks like a five layer card, but it is only four layers. HOW? I'm glad you asked! I first saw this when a fellow Sudsol Sister shared a design with the faux layering technique - it's simple! Just trim around the perforated edge of your Top Note die cut - easy peasey, no joke. I then used my Two Way Glue Pen to add some Dazzlng Diamonds Glitter to my faux layer, as well as to the cupcake frosting.

TIP: Did you know you don't *have* to have all the Classic Ink Pads or Ink Refills to be able to watercolor using ink? (Of course, why *wouldn't* you want all the ink pads and their refills, but that is another topic for another day! lol) this is also a good tip for when you are cropping, and don't want to take your whole stamp room with you - just grab your Many Marvelous Markers case and a Blender Pen and you are good to go!

All you need to do is scribble some ink, using the brush tip of your Stampin' Write, onto a stamp case, then pick up the ink using your blender Pen, and apply it to your images!

Here is a close up, though blurry, it does show the pretty Dazzling Diamonds Glitter - which my goal for this picture. (I think I need a special macro lens for my camera.)

Remember - the Top Note die may be used with the Big Shot or other die cutting machines, like the Cuttlebug.

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes
Card Stock: Bashful blue, Gable Green, Not Quite Navy & Confetti White.
Ink: Basic Gray Classic Pad, Stampin' Writes in Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue, Gable Green & Rose Red.
Accessories: Top Note Die, Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Two Way Glue Pen & Mini Glue Dots.
ENJOY!

Chat & Challenge 166

I know it's been awhile since I've posted about Chat & Challenges. It's not that I haven't been hosting them over at Sudsol the SU demonstrator only website. I just haven't had the time to post about them! This afternoon I hosted again - and used my own inspiration as the sketch - rare occurrence - lol!

This design was inspired by the sample on page 18 in the Spring/Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog. It was one of the four designs guests stamped at my m-i-l Alice's workshop last week.
We had a good time stamping together, and I think the guests all enjoyed the designs I had for them.

Stamps: Dreams du Jour, Sincere Salutations
Card Stock: Almost Amethsyt, Certainly Celery, Pirouette Pink & Whisper White
Ink: Lavendar Lace & Pirouette Pink
Accessories: Eyelet Border, Wide Oval, Scallop Square Punches, Stampin' Up! Backgrounds 1Texturz Plates, Whisper White Organdy Ribbon, Sponge Dauber, Dimensionals.
ENJOY!
